I modernize products—and how teams build them.

Fifteen years in mobile, rooted in native Android. Today I build Flutter apps, modernize backends, and improve the tools teams use to ship.

Who this is for

Three situations where I'm the right call.

Your product needs work across the app and backend.

A feature or fix crosses both. You need one engineer to investigate the problem, implement the changes, and work with your team to release them.

Your codebase is making every change harder.

Old dependencies, fragile integrations, or release problems slow you down. I help modernize the code while the product keeps running.

Your AI tools need to work for the whole team.

Useful individual setups are hard to share. I adapt issue preparation, code review, and pull request tools to your repository, with tests and human review.

What you get

Start small.
Build from there.

Start with a focused technical review from €1,500 or one workflow improvement. Decide what comes next after you've seen the work.

Broader technical assessments from €3,000; custom plugins and integrations from €6,000. Each is scoped separately, with a fixed quote before work starts. Tool subscriptions, hosting, and ongoing maintenance are separate.
How it works

From one problem
to a useful result.

01

Intro call. 30 minutes, free.

Tell me about the product and where you're stuck. I'll explain whether I can help and suggest a starting point. No commitment.

02

Start with one defined problem.

We agree what you will receive, how we will check it, the schedule, and the fee. Start with a review, a workflow improvement, or a clear implementation brief.

03

Investigate, build, and test.

For a review, I investigate and explain the findings. For implementation, I build and test the change, keeping you informed of decisions and tradeoffs.

04

Hand over or continue.

You get the result and documentation your team can use. If there is more to do, we decide the next step together.

The first delivery stands on its own. There is no obligation to continue.

// the work

Across the stack.
Close to the code.

I follow the problem across the app, backend, and integrations. I investigate what needs to change, implement it, and test it through to release.

I also build custom plugins and API integrations for issue preparation, code review, and pull requests. Where AI helps, I fit it to the repository and keep human review in the process.

Andrei Neamțu

We've worked with Robert on multiple Flutter projects for clients across Romania and Europe, and he's been a reliable partner throughout. He handled the mobile development end-to-end, delivering clean cross-platform apps that met our clients' needs. I'd happily work with him again.

About Robert
Portrait of Robert Berti Kato

Rooted in Android.
Working across the product.

From Skobbler to 3Pillar Global, native Android was the core of my work for the first decade of my career, starting in 2011. That experience still shapes how I approach app architecture, platform behavior, and releases.

Today my work spans Flutter apps, backend changes—including .NET modernization—and developer tooling. I work with product, design, engineering, QA, and ops to take changes through to release.

I'm also a co-founder at Quicks, responsible for the technical stack and delivery. Building a product with co-founders keeps me close to decisions about what to build, what to defer, and what it takes to maintain.

You work directly with me, from the first conversation through implementation. I explain technical decisions in terms of what they mean for your product and team.

FAQ

Questions worth answering up front.

Yes. A focused technical review starts at €1,500 for one question or subsystem: around 1–2 delivery days, written findings, and a walkthrough. It is not a whole-stack audit. Broader assessments start at €3,000. We agree the exact scope and fee before work starts.
A review or workflow improvement stands alone. The ongoing partnership starts with a paid first month; we agree the time each month and continuation terms in the proposal. Delivery days describe effort, not consecutive calendar days. We confirm dates before starting, allowing for availability and access to your systems.
One improvement using existing tools in one repository—for example, issue preparation, code review, or pull request preparation. Around 2–3 delivery days cover configuration, testing, and a walkthrough. New custom plugins or integrations are separate, from €6,000. These are starting prices; we agree the exact fee upfront. Subscriptions, hosting, and ongoing maintenance are separate.
I work alongside your team, using your repositories and review process. We decide which changes I take responsibility for and where we need to collaborate. You work directly with me throughout.
Yes, when the stack and scope fit. We start by reviewing what needs to work before launch, then quote implementation separately. A focused review answers one question; a broader assessment looks across the product. These are engineering reviews, not penetration tests or security certifications.
Yes. The proposal sets out your ownership of the custom code, configuration, and documentation I produce. Existing tools and third-party dependencies keep their own licenses. Your team receives the materials needed to maintain the work.
You receive the work, setup instructions, and a record of known issues. Additional transition help or maintenance is agreed separately, with a clear duration and fee.
I work from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Before starting, we agree working hours, response expectations, and how to raise urgent issues. Project work does not include 24/7 availability; production support is arranged separately if needed.
